Burma Out!! and British History

Dear "humble servant"
Sheesh!! Did you really call yourself that?

Thank you for the synopsis of Brit Raj. Your style of
writing is superb.

However in no way did I..

"" imply that Asia had no cause to be upset with British rule is a serious
lapse in the reading of history. Such lapses are dangerous, as every
schoolboy knows.""

neither on purpose nor by accident I think.

I am a fervent anti colonialist, always have been. But
I think you have been a little too liberal and forgiving
about Orwell. He may have been "just" a Brit po-liceman
"doing his job", but remember that just this year the Brit
po-lice have been condemned the whole length of the
country for being Systematic Racists,

The same systematic racists who have to face the
population leading to the Millenniuim. But this is also the
effects of something other than racism, and the after
effects of colonialism . of course

But it would be a tragic misinterpretation of history, in real
terms to consider that such as Orwell represented the populace
of the UK, (and not just the crown and traders) even back then.
And ridiculous to compare Orwellian action with Orwellian writing.

Even now, in our muti racial society, po-lice racism exists for
Brits, as it does in Burma and beyond.

When we use the term "British" One has to consider that
dawn comes to all nations in various forms. I know it sounds
a bit abstract but it was the crown, the traders, and the army
of Britain that was thrown out of its colonies, rightfully so.
But not the people.. The Brit people wanted out long before
the crown decided to listen... Then the crown Had to listen..

Freedom fighters from all over were giving them hell.

But those at the top of the heap were members of an elite
group in the main. And why such organisations as Class War still
turn up here on certain occasions, much to the chagrin of share
holders, and wreck the central areas of London for a few million.

Maybe the spirit of a free UK has always been in the hands of the
anarchists? If so, it is confirmed by our internal history. The same war
abroad against colonialism also existed here at home, centuries
before. But it failed, as all Brit root popular revolutions failed..

And in fact, it was and is, still the same old war, both in Burma
and the UK. The history of the Brits, is not mine, nor my version
of the realities both home and abroad, although the books tell us so.
