Dear Susan,
it is no secret, that every international appearances
(www.myanmarmade.com and also Sydney 2000) need the endorsement of the
SPDC. Even if their are genuine sportspeople in Burma, they are forced
to be puppets of the SPDC. Otherwise they would even not being allowed
to leave Burma.
Burma is afraid that especially from INSIDE the truth comes to the
outside world. And at this moment they let people appear anyhow outside
of Burma, this danger comes around. Why do you think it is so difficult
to obtain news from inside Burma? The only news we get from Rangoon,
Pegu, Prome, Mandalay, etc. are from the NLM and Okkar. Very, very rare
and with a delay other news come out.
Do you know how Internet is working? It is very easy to put the truth on
WWW (even myanmarmade.com) as long as this people also have the access
to their Internet appearance (FTP and in a few seconds they publish to
millions of people what they want). The SPDC know this, so they will not
allow suspicious people to appear on the interbnational ground.
Okay, maybe this people of myanmarmade.com are not directly linked with
the SPDC (for me impossible, because nearly all export business is a
matter of the SPDC; and myanmarmade.com is an export business). Another
thought on the supposed relationship is that they are allowed to appear
in Internet. To establish an Internet appearance you need money and the
endorsement of the SPDC. As I know people with money prefer in Burma to
behave pro-SPDC. What is inside their minds is another thing, they want
to survive and this is only possible in cooperation with the SPDC.
In conclusion I need to say, since even the owner of the domain is in
Rangoon, this business is suspicious for me. I think I understand how
the politics in Burma are working.
Regards
Heiko
