Myanmar's Zaw Moe joins Kuwabara to lead second day of tour 


AP, Kato (Japan) 29 October 1999.    Myanmar's Zaw Moe tied with Katsunori 
Kuwabara on Friday to take joint lead on the second day
of the 200 million yen (dlrs 1.9 million) Philip Morris Championship golf
tournament. 

Zaw Moe birdied six of the first 10 holes before closing his bogey-free
round with another birdie at the
ninth, scoring 134 on Friday and eying his first victory on the Japanese
circuit. 

Kuwabara, who got six birdies too, is in a dead heat with Zaw Moe. 

Dinesh Chand of Fiji, who led the first round with Nobumitsu Yuhara,
dropped to third place, one
stroke behind the two top seeds. Yuhara dropped to 20th place at 140. 

Ryoken Kawagishi took fourth place at 8-under 136. Shigeki Maruyama and
veteran Masahiro
Kuramoto are among four players tied at 137. 

Sixty-nine of the 90 players will move on to the third round. 

But defending champion Masashi ''Jumbo'' Ozaki won't be joining the group.
He missed the cut by one
shot. 

A minute's silence was held as a tribute to reigning U.S. champion Payne
Stewart, who was killed in a
plane crash on Monday. 

The winner will receive first-prize money of 40 million yen (dlrs 384,000).
