Well, "Like father, like son"

Over the centuries we all know that the Brit military can
kick butt big time.

We also know that the Burmese Generals do not know
how to run the Burmese military in any way that could
be called progressive.

If they did, they would have continued to train their officer
force at Sandhurst where the best officers of the line
learned their deathly trade. One of the effects of that
is that for reasons of their own, (probably connected to
the drug trade) now over 75% of the Burmese army officers
are under educated and know but little and care even less
for the democratic process.

Britain : Wears black. Remembering the dead. Anf
for one minute, the whole nation stands in silence.

Today is Armistice Day, and all the armies of the "old
empire" and the Commonwealth are on show. Standing in
silence while we all remember those who died in the fight
against the nazis in WW1 and WW2. Even my old comrade
from the S Africa government is there, now representing his
nation, rather than being what Thatcher once called " a
terrorist" Standing next to him, Andrew, prince of the realm
and one of my golf partners for next year.

Burma is not invited to attend these ceremonies. One
wonders why, but not for long, for one knows.

Why should I care about this? Well, as a child, I used
to don my father's medals and take the stage on the
grand steps myself. As a representative of his and others,
courage. For as an "airman", he was never there to take
the memorial stand himself..And commemorate the sacrifice
made by his many comrades

I am sure that one doesn't have to say why, does one?
