Experience of a fugitive

A Shan fugitive, from the Thai-Burma border, in the province of Mae Hong =
Son, had told about his experience on the 15th November 1999.

The fugitive, named Sai Myint (age 27), son of Loong Aw and Nai Ku of =
Wan Kun Kharn, Naa Kuong tract, Langkho township. He was one of the 40 =
deportees from Mae Hong Son on 9th November 1999. These group (most of =
them were old folks and children) were deported to the Burmese garrison =
at Naa Mon Long situated near the Thai-Burma border.

Sai Myint told that, one of his companion, named Ai Seng (age 30) from =
Wan Sai Khao, Hsi Hseng township, came to work as a farm laborer in Wan =
Pha Wong, province of Mae Hong Son. During which he became seriously ill =
and went to Mae Hong Son hospital for treatment. But he had no papers, =
he was refused to deserve treatment instead, sent to the immigration =
office of Mae Hong Son, where he was deported with other illegal =
immigrants on 9th November 1999. While walking on his way to the border, =
he expired on they way side.

Ai Seng will be very thankful to those who had speed him up, to gain his =
freedom from illness and further suffering in the hands of the Burmese =
soldiers. But, his other companion are worrying about their future. If =
they went directly to the Burmese garrison, they could face detained and =
sentences in prison. If they avoid the Burmese garrison, they have to =
risk of been stepping on land mines, laid by the Burmese soldiers.
