Dear Friends:

It is with great sorrow that the news of Ko Zaw Win's untimely depature has
been taken by those who knew him.

I met him once during a conference in Berlin held by Burma Project Berlin,
years back. I had had an opportunity to talk to him on various topics and
could still remember his broad-mindedness and political maturity regarding
the non-Burmans' position. I later came to know more of his far-sightedness
in all aspects of political issues surrounding Burma, through a close friend
of mine who corresponded with him for sometimes.

I have been meaning to meet him or call on him for a long time, but,
somehow, I  had never got the chance to do it. Now his untimely departure
will leave me with ill-feeling and sense of duty to fulfill what Ko Zaw Win
had always wanted to achieve - the well-being of the people of Burma.

Let all of us try to carry on the good and noble work of Ko Zaw Win.

May Ko Zaw Win rest in peace.

Dear friends,

Dr.Zaw Win (Burma Project Prague, Czech Prpublic) passed away on 18.11.1999
in
Berlin, Germany.

He was on his way back from Nicaragua, where he investigated some developing
projects, which could be suitable for the rual areas in Burma.

He died due to rupture of a blood vein in the brain.

Everybody knows that Dr.Zaw Win lived a charitable life, always doing and
thinking of something useful for others and Burma selflessly.

Dr. Zaw Win funeral will take place in Prague. He left his wife Malena, son
Richard and Daughter Renate.
