believe it or not.... from Burma St

Subject: Re: believe it or not.... from Burma Studies Group

Dear Maung Yoe,

As we know, this is a traditional theory of military group which was born
by Ne Win since he seized the power from the civilian government in 1962. The
constitution was completed in 1974 after 12 years with political maneuver.
Now, spdc generals are following the same political maneuver what their
stepfather did. They want to take more than 12 years to draw a constitution.

During those years, they will traduce the opposition groups including Daw
Aung San Suu Kyi ,student leaders, the people who have public and democratic
spirit. If they are real hornest for their own country, they will easily set
up the negotiation process with National League for Democracy (N.L.D) party
led by Aung San Suu Kyi won 392 of the 485 seats up for election in the
National Assembly (81%), while the military won 10 seats and other opposition
groups. We all know about all threats we will face at the moment for the
future Burma. Why can we not solve together now?

As everyone know, the Burmese people are not fighting for Aung San Suu Kyi,
they are fighting for a political system which will apply to democracy and
freedom in futurre Burma. We love our own country, Aung San Suu Kyi love her
country, and so do everyone does. No doubt about that. Whether we like Suu
Kyi or not, we all Burmese people must respect the Burmese desired outcome
which was comming from 1990 general election, and we must abide the
democratic priciples

The only group did not abide the democratic priciples and did not respect the
Burmese people desired need or outcome is military junta or spdc general
group which was born by Ne Win. The answer is very clear. They want to abuse
the power and ruin our beloved country.( In fact, the army stepped in,
ousted the civilian government in a coup on March 2, 1962, and formed a
Revolutionary Council headed by General Ne Win to rule the country. This
brought to an end the period of parliamentary democracy and the right to
criticized military government policies in public were step-by-step
completely suppressed.

Since 1962, Burma has been under siege economically and politically by the
military "robber barons" under the dictatorship. From 1962 to 1988, the
policy of Burma was a totalitarian nightmare state under a single-party
military dictatorship.)

Believe it or not, the political restriction in their constitution will be
that the Furture Prime minister or President and most of the ministers( In
fact, the army stepped in, ousted the civilian government in a coup on March
2, 1962, and formed a Revolutionary Council headed by General Ne Win to rule
the country. This brought to an end the period of parliamentary democracy and
the right to criticized military government policies in public were
step-by-step completely suppressed.

must be from military in order to follow their constitution.

<< Dear Maung Yoe,

you know that the junta has a lot of clever thinkers. They know, if
there is a democratic or even a pseudo-democratic process in the
country, so long there is nothing to worry. The junta has another ally -
the civil war in Burma. So they have a reason to behave like drafting a
constitution which takes years. I want to recommend the book "The Lady"
by Barbara Victor. She describes her meeting with a handful of people
from the National Convention. I also agree totally with her analysis of
the process of drafting the constitution.

The USA constitution is strong, because it is flexible. I. e. there
exists the constitution court which prooves every change or update in
the constitution if it "bites" the idea of the constitution. This makes
it so strong. It is never old-fashioned, but it never gives up it
 principles.
