(1) Sergeant U Saw Phala Oh of No. 4 Brigade Combat
Company of KNU and family members exchange arms for
peace

    A 22-member armed group led by sergeant U Saw Phala
Oh of No.4 Brigade Combat Company of KNU armed group
and 41 family members together with 18 assorted arms
and ammunition, exchanged  arms for peace at the
military column in Pedet Village in Thayetchaung 
Township, Taninthayi Division, Coastal Region Command
on 26 November. Chairman of Dawei District and Peace
and Development Council presented monetary assistance
and gifts and Chairman of Myeik District Peace and
Development Council provisions to sergeant U Saw Phala
Oh and 41 family  members. 

(2) SAM Holds Charity Bazaar

    The SAM Charity Bazaar, organized by Singapore
Citizens Association (Myanmar), was held on the lawns
of Inya Lake Hotel from 10 am to 4 pm on 28 November.

Mr. Frankie Chew and Chairperson of Myanmar Maternal
and Child Welfare Association  (Central) Professor Daw
Kyu Kyu Swe gave speeches.  Change d' Affairs ai of
Singapore Embassy Mr. William Chik Kam Weng, Mr.
Frankie Chew and Professor Daw Kyu Kyu Swe opened the
SAM Charity Bazaar.  Donations and proceeds of the
Bazaar will go to MMCWA. 

(3) Myanmar Construction Delegation Leaves on Tour
Abroad

    A 30-member Myanmar delegation led by Deputy
Director-General of Department of Human Settlement and
Housing Development of the Ministry of Construction
left Yangon by air on 28 November to observe works
related to the construction in France, Belgium and the
Netherlands up to 4 December 1999 under the
arrangement of Siam Cement Myanmar Trading Ltd. The
delegation members are nine officers from the Ministry
of Construction, the Ministry of Transport and Yangon
City Development Committee and twenty construction
entrepreneurs led by Chairman U Khin Shwe of MCEA
(Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Association). 

(4) MAI Inaugurates Yangon-Macau-Yangon Charter Flight

    A ceremony to mark the Yangon-Macau-Yangon inaugural
charter flight of Myanmar Airways International of the
Ministry of Transport took place at the Airport Lounge
of Macau International Airport at 5 pm local time on
27 November.  President of Macau Myanmar Overseas
Chinese Association Mr. Wong Keng Seng (Jose) and
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the CAM-
International Airport Management of Macau Mr. Joao
Manuel de Sousa Moreira extended greetings. The WA-G
Developmental Group had chartered the Boeing-737 
(400) aircraft of MAI to run Yangon-Macau-Yangon for
ten frequencies up to February in the year 2000 with
effect from 28 November.  MAI at present flies to
Bangkok twice a day, daily to Singapore and twice a
week to Kuala Lumpur, and Hong Kong. Macau is the
fifth extended destination of MAI.  The inaugural
charter flight began on 27 November. The inaugural
flight with 42 passengers and journalists on board
left Yangon at 12:15 pm yesterday and arrived Macau at
4:50 pm local  time. The aircraft left Macau carrying
81 passengers and journalists at 6:10 pm local time
and arrived back Yangon at 8 pm.
