ceremony to pay respects to aged literati at the City Hall here this morning.
Secretary-l of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt paid
respects and presented donations in cash and kind to the aged literati.
that literati had taken the lead in striving for the interests of the nation
and the people, holding their pen; they have inspired the people to be imbued
with anti-colonial sentiment and a spirit of making supreme sacrifice for the
nation and the people; they were in the vanguard in safeguarding the race and
religion which got bogged down in the mire during the colonial period.
During the colonial period, Myanmarsar did not attain social acceptance;

Asian Write Award every year since 1997; this shows that Myanmarsar is
gaining popularity and spreading in the world.
Myanmarsar domain is expanding beyond the territory of Myanmar; the world has
come to recognize Myanmar as well as national liberation and anti-colonial
tradition of Myanmar.
