</font><font size=5>R</font></b><font size=3>angoon will receive a Thai
delegation for talks on the suspended fishing concessions on Monday, said
Thai officials.<br>
The 10-member delegation will be led by deputy permanent secretary of the
Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operatives, Suthiporn Chirapanda.<br>
Burma terminated all fishing concessions in early October, amid
dissatisfaction with Bangkok's handling of the takeover of its embassy by
dissident Burmese students.<br>
The delegation will also include fisheries department chief Dhammarong
Prakobboon, the president of the Thai Overseas Fisheries Association
Wanchai Sangsukiam and chairman of the Ranong Fisheries Association
Banchong Vipakkitanan<br>
&quot;Right now we know nothing about what our neighbour would like to
negotiate, but with the presence of the private sector, the talks should
reach some conclusions,&quot; said an official.<br>
On Monday they will pay a courtesy call on livestock and fisheries
minister Brig-Gen Maung Maung Thein, and on Tuesday are scheduled to sign
a memorandum of understanding after talks with the director-general of
the department of fisheries U Soe Win.<br>
