flag.

The present government since its assumption of
power has given priority to the national
solidarity which had become degenerated due to
colonialists divide and rule policy.

Spending large sums of money, the government is
implementing tasks to develop the economy,
education and health of the brethren especially
those living in border areas.

With the guidance of Chairman of the State Peace

technological universities and colleges have been
opened in all States and Divisions for
proportionate emergence of intellectuals and
intelligentsia.

Earnest efforts are being made in building roads
and bridges as progress of transport links in the
length and breadth of the nation will lead to
enhancing the love and unity among the national
races.

As the dams are being built to ensure adequate
water for agriculture and to fulfil basic food,
clothing and shelter requirements, so also
industries are being set up for national
modernization and development.

The Ministry of Science and Technology has been
formed separately to bring out more technicians
and intellectuals.

If the national race groups will continue to join
hands with the government in actively expediting
the national development tasks as in the present,
a new modern and developed nation will emerge in
the near future.
