IMPHAL Sept. 24. ? The all-party meeting called by the chief minister
regarding the possible fallout of the extension of ?area of ceasefire?
to Naga-inhabited areas in Manipur, unanimously welcomed the extension
of ceasefire between the Centre and NSCN-IM.

It, however, said that the ceasefire should be restricted to Nagaland
and not be extended to Manipur.

The meeting called by Mr Nipamacha Singh has in a resolution decided to
send an all-party delegation to the Centre to convey the desire of the
people of Manipur. The delegation will leave Imphal in first week in
October. The resolution follows indications shown by the PMO
representative, Mr K Padmanbhaiah, in the peace talks, that the Centre
would consider extending the ceasefire to Naga-inhabited areas in the
north-east.

The delegation will call on the Prime Minister and the home minister and
oppose any move to encroach on the territory of Manipur, according to
CMO sources. The CM will be heading the delegates. The source also added
that the delegate would ask the Union ministry to settle all border
disputes. Regarding the upcoming rally on 28 September, all political
parties at the meeting were of the opinion that it should be peaceful
and for the integrity of the territory of Manipur. No non-democratic
slogans and placard should be allowed, it said. The rally has been
called by some NGOs and is being supported by several clubs and
organization.

The number of supporting organization have increased manifold since the
rally was announced.
