Bangladeshi fishermen were abducted by Burma NA SA KA near the St Mertin
Island.

At Bay of Bengal, near the St Mertin Island a number of Bangladeshi
fishermen have been abducted by Burma NA SA KA (Burmese border forces).

On September 15 this year, nine Bangladeshi fishermen with one fishing
boat were abducted by Burma NA SA KA (Burma border forces) at Bay of
Bengal near the St Mertin Island.  Besides, 15 Bangladeshi fishermen
were abducted and seized two fishing boats. On October 9 this year also
another five fishermen with the boats were captured by Burma NA SA kA.

According to the sources of Taknef border town of Bangladesh police and
36th Bangladesh Rifle Battalion, 15 members of NA SA KA with the speed
boat rushed to the fishermen who where fishing near the St Mertin Island
(local call Shinmapru Kyum). The arrested fishermen are Jar, Ahmed,
Shafiqual Alam, Talmiah, Mohamad Ishaq, Abdur Rahin, ImanHussin, Moor
Mohamad, Mohamad Ishaq and Ahbul Kashan and residents of Shahaporidi
Village of Taknef township.

The Bangladesh BDR (Bangladesh Defense Riffle) sent a protest letter to
Burma NA SA KA to release early their abducted people.
