One injured in land mine explosion on Bangladesh-Burma border

One Burmese national was seriously injured when he step on a mine near
the Bangladesh-Burma border. Mr. Naw Be U Saung, from Lat Ya Taung Pyo
Village of Maung Daw town in Arakan State, was seriously injured while
collecting firewood near the border pillar No. 36 with Bangladesh on
January 8. He was rushed to the Sittwe hospital by his family and
Mizzima News Group has learnt that he lost his legs due to the mine
explosion and he is in critical condition in the hospital.
