           Burmese delegation to visit IETF 2001 in New Delhi

    Burma will send a delegation to IETF 2001 ? Asia?s largest all
industry fair, which is being organized by the Confederation of Indian
Industry (CII) between 15th ? 19th February at Pragati Maidan in New
Delhi.

Over 2,000 exhibitors from more than 32 countries would be exhibiting
the latest technical and manufacturing advances at the International
Engineering, Manufacturing & Technology Fair - IETF 2001 and 43
delegations from 27 countries are expected to visit the IETF, stated the
CII today.

Addressing the press conference on the eve of exhibition today, Mr
Subodh Bhargava, Chairman, CII Trade Fairs stated that CII?s flagship
event, IETF, has emerged as Asia?s largest business fair of its kind
with its strength in providing a comprehensive collection of
engineering, manufacturing and technological capabilities from across
the globe.

Besides Burma, other high level delegations visiting IETF are from
Africa, Austria, Belarus, Canada, Mauritius, Nepal, Russia, UK, USA,
UAE, among others, he added.

Mr Arun Bharat Ram, President CII stated that ?This year?s fair is being
organized at a crucial juncture. It not only coincides with a decade of
reforms in India, which witnessed a number of changes in the trade and
policy front, but also has given rise to a new vision of higher growth
for India?. The largest international participation at IETF 2001 would
be from Spain with 165 companies of from that country alone
participating.

Mr. Krishan Kant, Vice President of India and HRH, The Prince of
Asturias, Spain will inaugurate the IETF 2001 tomorrow.
