Description: "Myanmar is set to build one more bridge to link Ayeyarwady region with Rakhine state beginning November, according to the Ministry of Construction on Monday. The Chaungwa Bridge lying along the Rakhine coast will be the third to be built in addition to the two under construction which are Makyizin and Pathein No. 2. The Chaungwa Bridge, which passes through Ngaputaw township of Ayeyarwady region and link Gwa township of Rakhine state, will be built at a cost of 3.6 billion kyats (2.4 million U.S. dollars), said project manager-in-charge Daw Thin Thin Aung. The iron reinforced bridge of 259 meters in length and 7.2 meters in width, which can withstand 60 tons of load, would benefit the transport in the two regions. Upon completion, the bridge would speed up the flow of trade between the two regions and help develop socio-economic status, she added. Rakhine state is uniquely located to support the emergence of economic and industrial zones with its range of pristine beaches and cultural heritage sites..."
