Description: '' Any Land Customs Officer, duly empowered by the Chief Customsauthority in this behalf, may require any person in charge of any goods whieh such Officer has reason to believe to have been imported, or to be about to be exported, by land from, or to, any foreign territory to produce the pcrmif granted for such goods ; and any such goods which are dutiable and which are unaccompanied by a permit or do not correspond with the specification contained in the permit produced, shall be detained and shall be liable to confiscation : Provided that nothing in this sub-section shall apply to any imported goods passing from a foreign frontier to a land customs station by a route prescribed in that behalf. The Chief Customs-authority may. by notification in the Gazette, direct that the provisions of this section, or any specified provisions thereof, shall not. in any land customs area specified in the notification, apply in respect of goods of any class or value so specified. A Land Customs Officer empowered in this behalf by the Chief Customs-authority shall pass free of duty any goods imported or exported by land by any passenger, if he is satisfied that the goods are the passenger’s personal baggage in actual use...''

Description: ''“Court” means the Court of the District Judge or. within the limits of the ordinary original civil jurisdiction of the High Court, such Court, subordinate to the High Court, as the President of the Union may. by notification in the Gazette. designate in this behalf ; , “ mutwalli ” means any person appointed either verbally or under any deed or instrument by which a wakf has been created or by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be the mutwalli of a wakf, and includes a naib-mutwalli or other person appointed by a mutwalli to perform the duties of the mutwalli. and. save as otherwise provided in this Act, any person who is for the time being administering any wakf property ; . , , “ prescribed ” means prescribed by rules made under this Act ; and “ wakf ” means the permanent dedication by a person professing the Mussalman faith of any property for any purpose recognized by the Mussalman law as religious, pious or charitable, but does not include any wakf. such as is described in section 3 of the Mussalman Wakf Validating Act.i under which any benefit is for the time being claimable for himself by the person by whom the wakf was created or by any of his family or descendants...''
