Description: '' (1) The President of the Union shall, by notification, declare the rates at which dues leviable under this Act shall be paid, and (a) may cause such rates to vary in any or all of the following cases — (i) according to the class of the goods. (ii) according as the goods are exported from or imported into a port. (iii) according to the place to which the goods are to be exported or from which they are imported, and (iv) according to the class of ve:sel ; and (b) may exempt specified classes of vessels or goods from the operation of this Act...''

Description: ''specified place therein, of any article or class of articles likely to cause infection to any crop [or of insects generally or any class of insects]1. A notification under this section may specify any article or class of articles [or any insect or class of insects]1, either generally or in any particular manner, whether with reference to the country of origin, or the route by which imported or otherwise. A notification under section 3 shall operate as if it had been issued under section 19 of the Sea Customs Act, and the officers of customs at every port shall have the same powers in respect of any article with regard to the importation of which such a notification has been issued as they have for the time being in respect of any article the importation of which is regulated, restricted or prohibited by the law relating to sea customs, and the law for the time being in force relating to sea customs or any such article shall apply accordingly...''

Description: ''(1) Copies made out of the Union of Burma of any work in which copyright subsists which if made in the Union of Burma would infringe copyright, and as to which the owner of the copyright gives notice in writing by himself or his agent to the Chief Customs officer, as defined in the Sea Customs Act, that he is desirous that such copies should not be imported into the Union of Burma, shall not be so imported, and shall, subject to the provisions of this section, be deemed to be prohibited imports within the meaning of section 18 of the Sea Customs Act. (2) Before detaining any such copies, or taking any further proceedings with a view to the confiscation thereof, such Chief Customs officer, or any other officer appointed by the Chief Customs authority in this behalf, may require the regulations under this section, whether as to information, security, conditions or other matters, to be complied with, and may satisfy himself, in accordance with these regulations, that the copies are such as are prohibited by this section to be imported...''

Description: ''If any money borrowed in accordance with the provisions of this Act, or any interest or costs due in respect thereof, is or are not repaid according to the conditions of the loan, the Government, if itself the lender, may. and, if the Government is not the lender, shall, on the application of the lender, attach the funds on the security of which the loan was made. After such attachment, no person, except an officer appointed in this behalf by the President of the Union, shall in any way deal with the attached funds ; but such officer may do all acts in respect thereof which the borrowers might have done if such attachment had not taken place, and may apply the proceeds in satisfaction of the loan and of all interests and costs due in respect thereof and of all expenses caused by the attachment and subsequent proceedings...''
