"Nay Pyi Taw, 11 May — The Department of Medical Care has a plan to provide ambulances to township-level people?s hospitals in fiscal 2015- 2016, but not to station hospitals in remote areas at this stage, Deputy Minister for Health Dr Daw Thein Thein Htay told the Amyotha Hluttaw on Monday. The deputy minister made the admission during the 45th day session of the Upper House after U Hla Swe, MP of Magway Region Constituency No 12, asked whether the department under the Ministry of Health planned to provide ambulances, drivers and fuel to station hospitals in remote areas for transport of emergency patients. U Soe Aung of Mandalay Region Constituency No 11 asked for a plan to repair Thapaya Lake near Thanpayakan Village in Mahlaing Township. Deputy Minister for Livestock, Fisheries and Rural Development U Tin Ngwe told the Upper House that the ministry has no plan to immediately dredge the earthen lake to store rainwater but undertakes rural development tasks as a priority. The Hluttaw approved the amendment of the Pyithu Hluttaw over the bill on rights for people with disabilities. Member of Amyotha Hluttaw Bill Committee U Tin Yu submitted a report of the committee to the Hluttaw to enable MPs to discuss the Myanmar Buddhist Women?s Special Marriage Bill sent back by the Pyithu Hluttaw with amendments."
