Amyotha Hluttaw 15 June, 2015: Homalin to get arts and science college when state and region university plan is drawn [incl. Building a modern museum in Mandalay Royal City+2012 Amyotha Hluttaw Law +Myanmar Red Cross, Border Area and National Races Development Bills]: "Nay Pyi Taw, 15 June — A college needs 2,000 students in minimum, buildings, faculty members, staff, teaching aid and furniture for its establishment, Deputy Minister for Education Dr Zaw Min Aung replied to the question of U Aung Chit Lwin of Sagaing Region Constituency No 11 on Monday session of Amyotha Hluttaw. The deputy minister said that 853 students from Hkamti and Mawlaik districts are pursuing education at Monywa University for 2014-15 academic year. He replied that when a plan for universities is drawn for all regions and states, arrangements will be made to open an arts and science college in Homalin, Sagaing Region. U Saw Maw Tun of Bago Region constituency No 1 asked about a plan for building a modern museum with the shape of royal structures in Mandalay Royal City. Deputy Minister for Culture U Than Swe replied that as the government has built Myanan Sankyaw golden palace with buildings of royal structures for public observation, there is no plan to build a modern museum with Myanmar kings? royal designs. The Hluttaw approved the 2012 Amyotha Hluttaw Law sent back by the Pyithu Hluttaw. The Hluttaw invited MPs to discuss the Myanmar Red Cross Bill and the Border Area and National Races Development Bill with second amendment."
