"Nay Pyi Taw, 18 May—Amyotha Hluttaw continued for the 49th-day session Monday. With regard to the question raised by U Phone Myint Aung of Yangon Region Constituency No 3 on change of system for releasing the result of matriculation examination, Dep-uty Minister for Education U Thant Shin said that the Ministry of Education will release the result of matriculation examination through its website and hardcopy on the designated date. U Myint Hlaing of Rakhine State Constituency No 12 asked about annual fund, equipment, generator and related materials for completion of Thahtay hydropower project in Rakhine State in 2018-19 fiscal year. Deputy Minister for Electric Power U Aung Than Oo said that funds will be sought for implementation of the project. Generator and related equipment will be imported in coming fiscal year for timely completion of the project. U Khin Maung (a) U Aung Kyaw Oo of Rakhine State Constituency No 3 asked about measures against use of plastic bags by the State. Deputy Minister for Health Dr Daw Thein Thein Htay replied that region and state governments released orders and directives on prohibition of using plastic bags under the environmental conservation law. The Department of Health cooperates with Development Affairs Committee in reducing use of plastic bags for environmental conservation. The Amyotha Hluttaw decided to submit controversial points between two Hluttaws in the bill amending the National Education Law to the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw. U Min Oo of Bago Region Constituency No 7 discussed it needs to improve the 1954 Buddhist Women Special Marriage and Inheritance Act in conformity with the present time. If not, the new law should be drafted in line with the human rights of the constitution, Universal Declaration of Human Rights and international treaties signed by Myanmar. Daw Khin Waing Kyi of Yangon Region Constituency No 1 also discussed that it is necessary to draft a marriage law for Myanmar women to protect their rights."
