"Nay Pyi Taw, 24 March — The national education amendment bill came under discussion at the Amyotha Hluttaw here on Tuesday, with members of parliament speaking with one voice on the bill, which they said must emphasize suitability, adaptability and practicality for the long-term interests of the country. U Thein Swe from No.10 Constituency of Ayeyawady Region suggested participation of experienced specialists rather than independent specialists. The education reform would enable Myanmar to catch up with others when we could overcome the challenges, according to U Khin Maung Latt of Rakhine State?s No.6 Constituency. U Min Oo of the Bago Region constituency No.7 described the national education as a national concern, saying the education law must pave the way for a better education system. U Saw Ohn, who represents No.9 Constituency in Mon State, said education must be reconstructed for the country to become modern and prosperous."
