"Nay Pyi Taw, 7 April — Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation U Khin Zaw was in Amyotha Hluttaw session on Tuesday, answering queries about water storage facilities and a rural development bank. Replying to the question of U Aung Chit Lwin, an MP of Sagaing region constituency No 11, the deputy minister said a fund for construction of onewall reservoir in Homalin Township, Hkamti District, in northwestern Myanmar has not been proposed in the regional government budget of 2015-2016 fiscal year despite benefits of this suggested water facility to irrigate more than 550 acres of paddy farms. Regarding the query about formation of a management committee on water storage facilities, U Khin Zaw also said Myanmar National Committee on Large Dams has been legalized on February 27 this year, and the executive board of the committee is open to all civil service employees. He also said the ministry has not planned to open an outlet of Myanma Agricultural Development Bank in Waingmaw Township in Kachin State in consideration of budget allocation in 2015-2016 fiscal year."
