Amyotha Hluttaw 8 April, 2015: Amyotha Hluttaw approves report of Public Account Committee

"Nay Pyi Taw, 8 April — Amyotha Hluttaw session on Wednesday approved the report of the Public Accounts Committee on tasks being carried out with the union budget in 2013-14 fiscal year by the Ministry of Border Affairs and the Ministry of Livestock, Fisherirs and Rural Development. U Salai Khwe Yan, a representative from Chin State constituency No 12 pointed out at the session that both contractors and supervising authority lack accountability for road and bridge projects in Chin State and said that effective action should be taken against those responsible. U Thein Hlaing, Sagaing Region constituency No 8 said that Hsegyi Creek RC Bridge in Kalewa Township built with the union budget is not usable during rainy seasons and a school building in North Tonhlaw Village is not durable. The representative proposed taking action against those responsible. After discussions, the session approved the report. At today?s session, the speaker informed the representatives of receiving bill for Myanmar Accountancy Council from the Pyithu Hluttaw with some amendments."
