"This group is intended for sharing of human rights information on Burma, a country where one of the most repressive military regimes on earth is in power. The group was established in July 2001 with the participation of human rights activists from various coutries around the world, in response to the overwhelming interest in human rights situations in Burma during the 22nd Annual International Human Rights Training held in Montreal, Canada by Canadian Human Rights Foundation.
