Among the first evidence of Burmese culture are carved Buddha images and the brith stories of Buddha on clay, stone, metal and wood. The height of the the votive tablets are five to eight inches. Early votive tablets were found in Srikshetra, Tagaung, Bagan, Thaton, Hpa-an and Rakhine State. The votive tablets studied are housed in the Department of Archaeology, Yangon.
