Thai transport minister visits Burma

BANGKOK, May 8  - Thai Transport and Communication Minister Suwat Liptapallop 
arrived in Rangoon on Thursday for talks with senior Burmese officials, 
state-run Burmese radio said in a dispatch monitored here.
During the official two-day visit, Liptapallop is scheduled to meet with his 
Burmese counterpart Lieutenant General Thein Win to discuss proposals to 
improve Thai-Burma road and aviation links, a senior Thai official said.
Liptapallop will also propose extension of the existing border crossing rail 
link between the two countries, he added.
