"The Committee for Supporting
Peace and Stability in Rakhine
State Peace held its second coordination
meeting at the Hluttaw
Building in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
At the meeting, U Aye Tha
Aung, Chairman of the committee
and Deputy Speaker of
Amyotha Hluttaw, recounted the
committee’s first trip to Rakhine
State, saying that the suggestions
received by in meetings
with Rakhine communities and
political parties in Yangon and
Sittway were much beneficial
to the committee and the Sate.
The discussions at the
meeting focused on easing the
conflicts in Rakhine State, said
the committee chairman.
In coming second trip, the
committee would meet with
experts, said U Aye Tha Aung,
asking the attendees to review
and discuss the outcomes of the
first trip.
Afterwards, Vice Chairment
of the Committee Union Minister
Dr. Pe Myint and Rakhine
State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu,
members of the committee
Deputy Minister for the Office
of the Union Government U Tin
Myint, Rakhine State Minister
for Border Affairs and Security
Col. Phone Tint, Deputy Attorney-
General U Win Myint, Yangon
Region Minister for Rakhine
Affairs U Zaw Aye Maung,
Rakhine State Hluttaw Representative
U Maung Maung Ohn,
Deputy Chief of Myanmar Police
Force Police Maj-Gen Aung Naing
Thu, and U Nyi Hla Nge took
part in the discussion advising
the committee to continue to
hold discussion with local people
to reduce the current conflicts,
to fulfill the current needs and
requirements before the rainy
season, making further trips to
Rakhine State and seeking ways
for carrying out short-term and
long-term plans..."
